OIL & GAS

Oil and gas industry is subjected to a combination of severe corrosion and strength issues, necessitating the use of specialty materials fasteners such as Hastelloy and Inconel.

CORROSION

Some of the most severe corrosion occurs during fracking or acidizing, when sulfuric (H2SO4), hydrochloric (HCl), or hydrofluoric acid (HF) is used to stimulate the well.
Furthermore, H2S, also known as sour gas, is a naturally occurring byproduct of oil drilling and exploration, as well as a source of highly corrosive byproducts.
Corrosive conditions are exacerbated further by the high operating pressures found in deep and ultra-deep wells.brines are also found in geothermal wells and are composed of corrosive chlorides, siliceous compounds, and gases such as carbon dioxide and sulfur.

Hastelloy bolts are used in the most severe hydrochloric and sulfuric acid fracking operations.

Bolts made of Incoloy 825 are extremely resistant to sour gas environments

Duplex 2507 fasteners are used in moderately corrosive environments with salt water and brines.

STRENGHT

Aside from corrosion, the downhole industry necessitates extremely strong bolts for a variety of applications.
Some of our most specialized materials are used to deal with these extreme conditions:

Titanium Grade 5 provides an excellent combination of high strength and corrosion resistance.

Bolts made of Incoloy 925 have a high strength in sour gas conditions

Inconel 718 is used in situations that call for the toughest alloys that are also age-hardened and corrosion resistant
